Sophia Olisa Medlock

Olisa was born on March 29, 1960, in Arab, Alabama, to the late William and Marie Anderton. Her brother, Lanny Anderton, also predeceases her.

She obtained her Master of Audiology from the University of Alabama and worked for 39 years as an audiologist. She was dedicated in her work and fought for her patients. Olisa was a devoted wife, mother, and grandparent. She was known for her loyalty, strength, support, love, and faith. Olisa was a testament to the Lord’s work in her life and wanted others to feel that love as well.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 40 years, David Medlock; her two children, Hunter Medlock and his wife, Grace; and Rachel Medlock; her grandson, Walton Medlock; and her sister, Sherri King.

A visitation will be held at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 am.
