

Susan Wilson Graham, 79, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Father on January 26, 2024, in Madison, Mississippi, following a year-long battle with cancer. Susan was surrounded by her family as she transitioned to be with the Lord.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Jim Graham; sister, Cindy Wilson; and parents, Alta Jo and Vernon Wilson. She is survived by son, Jim Graham, III (Anne) of Birmingham, Alabama; daughter, Kim Graham Grogan (Rodney) of Madison, Mississippi; and her beloved grandchildren, Will Graham, Drew Graham Rushing (Steven) of Birmingham, Alabama; Quinn Graham of Gulf Breeze, Florida, Taylor Grogan Peoples (Bradley), Graham Grogan of Madison, Mississippi; Parker Grogan, Patrick Andrews (Joyce) of Houston,Texas; and Mason Andrews of Birmingham, Alabama.
Susan attended Ensley High School (Class of 1962) and was a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Alabama. She was active in her community serving as PTA President and Board Member of Gresham Junior High School and Cahaba Heights Elementary School. She enjoyed many years of service in the Cahaba Heights Athletic Association as a softball coach and commissioner.
Susan was also a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and the Chapel Sunday School Class. Other memberships included The Club, The Heart Guild, Southern Women’s Committee of Fifty, Greystone Garden Club, and her beloved “Bunko” group.
Though she is resting easy after a life full of taking care of others, Susan will be deeply missed by those she leaves behind. She will always be remembered for her sage wisdom, dance moves, and skills in the kitchen. Her family can take solace reading through the memories and recipes she compiled into a published cookbook while she was still alive — a gift that was and will continue to be cherished by many. Susan was always able to show gratitude and find the blessings through all of life’s seasons.
Susan's family and friends will visit at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 12-1 p.m., followed by A Celebration of Life Service at 1 p.m. with Dr. Richard Trader officiating. After the service, the family will continue to visit with friends at a reception at Ridout's Southern Heritage.
