She was predeceased by her husband, Virgil M. Sims, Sr.; parents, Will and Susie Bailey; and three sisters. Survivors include Marie's four sons, Virgil M. Sims, Jr. (Louise), Robert Allen Sims (Fran), Johnny M. Sims, and David L. Sims; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Friday, March 4, 2016 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL, immediately followed by the 12 noon funeral in Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham. Burial, Elmwood Cemetery, Birmingham. Cory Varden will be officiating minister.
