Tawanah received her formal education at Thompson High School in Alabaster, Alabama. She was a Christian and a devoted homemaker.
On November 14, 1959, Tawanah was united in marriage to Ralph Bines Kimble Sr. in Georgia. Their union was blessed with three children.
Tawanah enjoyed spending time with her family, caring for her loved ones, and shopping whenever she had the opportunity. She also enjoyed playing cards with her sister and friends, always welcoming a little friendly competition and trying to win.
Tawanah was preceded in death by her parents, Mattie Lou Tisha (Gant) and John Wesley Boyer; her sister, Ella Faye Boyer; her brother, Ralph Allen Boyer; her husband, Ralph Bines Kimble Sr.; and her daughters, Patricia Lee Keef and Christy Ann Kimble.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Ralph Bines Kimble Jr. (Mia); three grandchildren, Sherree Hood (Leslie), Chenoa Keef, and Megan Kimble; six great-grandchildren, Aubrei McCain, Natalie Hood, Rylan Hood, Zoey Wade, Wesson Wade, and Finley Hood; her sister-in-law, Bobbie Boyer; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Pelham Cemetery.
