Teresa Pillitteri Leon, 92, native and long-time resident of Birmingham, AL, passed away Wednesday morning, September 7, 2016. She was retired from Brunos Supermarkets, where she was a cashier for many years.
Teresa was predeceased by her husband, Joe Leon; parents, Pete Pillitteri and the former Josephine Troncale; one daughter, Frances Leon Wall; and three siblings, Rosalie Alfano, Annie Pillitteri, and Virginia Tortorici.
Survivors include Teresa's children, Phillip Leon and Joanne Leon Garrison; grandchildren, Jennifer Leon Courtney (John), Chris Leon (Heather), Beth Leon, Kevin Leon, Ashley Wall Cronmiller (Joe), Kristen Wall Face (Jonathan), Laura Wall, and Justin Garrison; great-grandchildren, Katelyn Courtney, Charles Courtney, Griffin Leon, and Caroline Cronmiller; and four siblings, Josephine Vizzina, Nancy Zito, Sam Pillitteri (Antonette), and Marie Tortorici.
Visitation will be 12 noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2016 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Hoover, AL, immediately followed by the Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Birmingham. Pastor Rev. Thomas M. Kelly will officiate.
