Theresa Romano

Theresa Scalisi Romano went to her heavenly home on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012. She was born in Bessemer, Alabama on Oct. 24, 1923 to Frank and Rosie Scalisi. She was a beloved wife to her husband, Bernard Charles Romano for 48 years and she was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She held a special place in the hearts of all who knew her. Her fun-loving spirit, quick wit and good cooking will be greatly missed. Those who will cherish her memory are daughter, Sara Romano Marino (Sammy), sons, Don Romano (Edith), Frank Romano (Carolyn); grandchildren, Jon Vice (Jennifer), Lisa Brown (Pat), Stephanie Cottingham (Matt), Ashley Romano, Mike Romano (Jennifer), B.C. Romano II. (Ginny), Frankie, Nicholas, John Michael and C.J. Romano; great-grandchildren, Maddie and Dylan Vice, Sarabeth Brown, Harper Anne, Don III and Jordan Romano. The Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 5514 Double Oak Lane, 35242 on Tuesday morning, Sept. 4, 2012 at 11:00am. Visitation will be at 9am to 11am at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church prior to the service. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to “Sister Servants of the Eternal Word”, 3721 Belmont Drive, Birmingham, Al 35210. The Sisters were near and dear to her heart. Friends may also make donations to Our Lady of the Valley Church Building Fund, 5514 Double Oak Lane, Birmingham, Al 35242.
