

Tom graduated from Fairlawn High School and attended Fairleigh Dickinson University. A U.S. Army Veteran, he was employed for several years in newspaper production with The Birmingham News.
In his leisure, Tom enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, travel, Alabama Crimson Tide football, and Yankees baseball. He also enjoyed working around the house and relaxing at the beach.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Carmella Grillo, and his sister, Caroll Grillo. He is survived by his wife, Diane West Grillo, to whom he was married on June 29, 1974; two sons, David Anthony Grillo (Christie) and Brian Michael Grillo (Kelley); four grandchildren, Parker Grillo, Peyton Grillo, Luke Grillo, and Carter Grillo; and a brother, Nicholas Grillo (Donna).
Tom’s family will visit with friends at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by the gravesite committal service with military honors at 2:45 p.m. at Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo.
