Survivors include Madison Adele Kimbrough, Mr. Kimbrough's daughter, and Sharon Mitchell Kimbrough,
his former wife. Madison and Sharon are residents of North Shelby County, Alabama.
Mr. Kimbrough was born in Montgomery, Alabama, and called North Shelby County his home. He was a graduate of Vanderbilt University and was honored to work for the Vanderbilt Police Department. Tom had a successful career in sales and multi-media marketing working at the National Can Company, Kimbrough & Associates, and Interlake Corporation.
He enjoyed high-end audio equipment, all types of music, ham radio, martial arts, classic and antique cars, motorcycles, bird watching, especially hummingbirds, and Alabama football. He never met a stranger and all whom he encountered, personally and professionally, easily became friends with his warm smile and easy-going manner. He had the ability to make others laugh and make the impossible, possible.
Although Tom achieved many sales and marketing awards throughout his career, his most memorable personal achievement was learning and earning his 4th degree black belt in Ninjutsu.
Mr. Kimbrough was a member of the Alabaster/Pelham Rotary Club and Riverchase United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Linda Myrick Kimbrough (Millbrook, Alabama) and Thomas Shelly Kimbrough, Sr. (Montgomery, Alabama).
Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama, immediately followed by A Graveside Service of Remembrance for Tom at 1 p.m. and Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Thompson, Beau Buchana, and Alabaster/Pelham Rotary Club members.
