MOORE JR., THOMAS E., age 81, native and long-time resident of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away Saturday morning, June 9, 2012. The 1949 graduate of Ramsay High School served in the U.S. Army before earning his Engineering degree at the University of Alabama. His entire professional career was in Civil Engineering. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas E. Moore Sr. and Robbie Lee Moore. Survivors include Tom's wife of 60 years, Virginia Hughes Moore; two children, Thomas "Ed" Moore III (Melanie) and "Chris" H. Moore (Barbie); four grandchildren, Rebecca Ann Moore, Haley Virginia Moore, Christa Renee Moore, and Joseph Daniel Moore; and one sister, Elizabeth Moore Lowe (Jerry) of Houston, Texas. The family will greet friends from 2-3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home, Pelham, Alabama. The 3 p.m. graveside service will be the same day at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham. Memorial gifts may be made to Southminster Presbyterian Church in Vestavia Hills, Alabama.
