

SHELTON, THOMAS VANCE, a Clanton, Alabama resident for the past 14 years, passed away Friday morning, September 21, 2012. He was 58. Tommy was born and raised in Pelham, Alabama and graduated from Thompson High School in 1972. Since 1987, he has worked in the Utility Division of Asplundh, most recently as a construction foreman. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family members. Tommy was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Collum Shelton; his parents, J.T. and Roberta Shelton; and one brother, Jack Shelton. Survivors include Tommy’s daughter, Tina Bishop; two sons, Randy Majors (Kim) and Garry Smith; four grandchildren, Caleb Smith, Hannah Marcum, John Majors, and Emily Majors; four sisters, Shelba Nivens (Kenneth), Nina Wilson (Norman), Glenda McDonough (Mickey), and Janice Burns (Ed); two brothers, James Shelton (Pat) and Joe Shelton (Margaret); special sister-in-law, Mae Lang; and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to New Beacon Hospice, Alabaster Cancer Center, Dr. Susan Ferguson, and Dr. Jaharus for their compassionate care of Tommy.
