Thomas Leslie Wofford, 95 of Hoover, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018. Mr. Wofford was a WWII veteran. He retired from Southern Railroad after 36 years of dedicated service. He was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Hoover. Thomas was known for his paintings, his Christmas cards, and his kindness and generosity. And if you were lucky, he would lovingly call you “shug.”
Mr. Wofford is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lena Wofford. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Clara Wofford; daughter, Joan Todd (Terry); grandchildren, Tracy Reid (Regan) and Brian Todd (Gena) and great-grandchildren, Caroline Reid and Grace Todd.
The celebration of Thomas’ life will begin with a visitation from 10 am until 12 noon, followed by his funeral service on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham. Mr. Wofford will be laid to rest at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
