died peacefully with family by her side.
Tracene was born in Tishomingo, MS to James R. Solomon and Virginia Elizabeth
Solomon, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her
husband, Willie R. Horton; son, Paul W. Horton; siblings, Jerry Kelly, Carlene Solomon, and
James Robert Solomon.
She is survived by her children, Connie (Robert) Sessions, Blake (Carol) Horton, and
Jim (Debbie) Horton, as well as six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces
and nephews.
Tracene was loved and cherished by her family and friends. She was a long-time
member of Westwood Baptist Church in Alabaster, AL. In later years, she was a member of the
White Springs Baptist Church in Rainbow City, AL.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Kindred Hospice Care and the staff
at Oak Landing Assisted Living in Attalla, AL.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 7th, at Southern Heritage Funeral
Home in Pelham, AL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. The funeral service
will begin at 12:00 p.m., with the graveside services thereafter.
