Wallace Bradford Parker, 80, of Pelham, Alabama passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024 after a courageous fight against cancer. He was born August 21, 1943 to Leonard and Ruth Parker in Birmingham, Alabama.
Wallace was a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and served in the U.S. Army. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of 45 years, Dena Franks Parker. They loved to dance, travel around the world together, and spend time with family.
Wallace loved to learn, and he would fully immerse himself in whatever field he wanted to master. Whether it was flying his airplane, computer technology or astronomy, Wallace became a master and enjoyed sharing his skills with others. He was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, the Coronets Dance Club, the Birmingham Astronomy Club, and the Birmingham Ski Club.
Wallace was a loving grandfather who never tired of hearing about his grandchildren’s adventures. Whether it be his love for the stars or another of his many interests, he always strove to share the joys of his life. He was always willing to teach and guide them throughout their lives.
Wallace was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Patricia Ann Warren. He is survived by his wife, Dena; his son, James Huntsinger, Jr. (Karen); and his grandchildren, Megan and Drew Huntsinger. He was an integral part of the Franks extended family and will be missed by all.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Birmingham, Alabama from 9-10 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the church, 5514 Double Oak Lane, Birmingham, AL 35242. The Rite of Committal will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
