

Dr. Walter Joseph Duffin, D.O., age 83, passed away Monday, March 17, 2025 in Hoover, Alabama. He was born on July 28, 1941 in Battle Creek, Michigan, son of Walter Lewis and Eleanor Yezic Duffin. He was a loving husband and father of four children.
Walter worked and retired as a physician. He dedicated his life, specializing in Radiology, to helping others. In his leisure, he enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards, was an avid sports fan, loved following the racing circuit, and was a faithful member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Birmingham, Alabama, as well as many other professional associations.
Walter was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Eleanor Duffin, and sister, Sandra Edison (Truman) of Holiday, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carole J. Duffin; his sister, Maureen Stowell (Richard); sons, Joseph Duffin (Elainia) and Richard Merriam (Kristen); daughters, Kelly Cohen (Mike) and Julee Knox (Thomas); grandchildren, Dylan Duffin, Crossden Duffin, Macee Bahrik (Dalton), Makala Wells (Satcher), Maria Moore (Micah), Adam Cohen (Molisa), Kallee Knox, and Luke Merriam; great-grandchildren, Remi and Radley Bahrik, Jolie and Haven Wells, and Adam, Zackary, Sophia, and Travis Cohen; and many nieces and nephews, who admired him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Walter Joseph Duffin's honor to the American Cancer Society.
