

Wanda Wallace Copeland, age 89, of Alabaster, Alabama, died on January 8, 2015. She was born on November 13, 1925 in Willow Bend, West Virginia and was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Copeland, and siblings Hazel Ramsey, Catherine Brown, and Orr Wallace.
Wanda is survived by her two daughters: Sharon (Charles) Penn and Melanie (Butch) Watterson. She had four grandsons: Bobby (Linda) Bowen, Preston (Sara) Watterson, Blake Penn, and Shannon Penn. She also had two granddaughters: Stephanie Bowen and Wendi (Wade) Holmes. Wanda had eight great-grandchildren who were delights to her. She was loved and respected by her extended family across the country.
Wanda was affectionately known to her family as MeMa. She spent her life loving and supporting her husband Otis ("PaPa") and her family. MeMa and PaPa traveled the world, lived overseas, and explored the United States in their motor home. She was known for her servant heart, her courage, and her sweet smile. She was gracious and loving, and she will be missed by us all.
The family will greet friends from 10:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Chapel Service on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama. Interment, Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham. Rev. Mark Cushman will officiate.
