He was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on March 2, 1959, to the late Warren Henry Candler, Jr. and Nancy Leigh Cooper Candler. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Paul Calvin Candler.
Warren attended Auburn University and UAB. He had a strong passion for animals, and over 35 years, he made a career out of dealing with animals' welfare. Warren was devoted to showing others how to care for animals properly. He served as Lieutenant of Animal Services in El Dorado County, California, and was a part of the Humane Law Enforcement Academy in Santa Rosa, California. Warren also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his granddaughters.
Left to cherish his memory is his life partner, Mike Richardson; nephew, Aaron Paul Candler; grandchildren, Amara Ruth Candler and Ava Elizabeth Candler; along with a host of loving family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, January 28, 2021, from 12:30 – 2:00 pm, with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery.
