

William Joseph Weber, 89, of Vestavia Hills, Alabama, passed away September 22, 2020. He was born in the West End community of Birmingham, Alabama, where he grew up and met the love of his life, Helen Annette Robinson Weber.
"Billy" joined the U.S. Air Force in 1949 during the Korean War and served as an air frame repairman for airplanes in Anchorage, Alaska. After serving our country, he joined his father and brothers in the Weber's Sheet Metal Company.
Billy had a life-long love of airplanes and actually got to fly in the B-17 Flying Fortress on his 80th birthday. His other love was boats and in his retirement, he rebuilt his pride and joy, the Betty Mae I, a 1948 Chris Craft.
Billy was a member of St. John's Evangelical Church before joining Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church in Birmingham. At Mountain Chapel UMC, he served in many capacities.
Billy and Annette were married almost 66 years and had two children, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Billy and Annette loved having all of their family gather in their home.
Billy was predeceased by his parents, Sophia Wilhelmona Seibert Weber and William Carl Weber; and three brothers, Carl Fredrick Weber and his wife Geraldine, Robert Lewis Weber and his wife Hazel, and Charles Edward Weber.
In addition to Annette, Billy's remaining family includes one daughter, Renee Weber Walker (Mike); one son, William Dudley Weber (Lisa); grandchildren, Lorraine Weber Gilmore (Nick), Kathleen Walker Neklyudov (Alex), William L. Weber (Kati), and Natalie Marie Walker; great-grandchildren, Will Gilmore, Davis Gilmore, Geneva Gilmore, Michael Neklyudov, Nora Reese Neklyudov, and Benjamin Weber; one sister, Jean Weber Bowlin (Oscar); one sister-in-law, Mildred Annette Weber; and many nieces and nephews. Billy is also survived by many, many dear friends who loved him and will miss him.
The family will greet friends from 12 noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2020 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama, immediately followed by A Service of Remembrance for Billy Weber at 1 p.m. at the funeral home's chapel. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Birmingham.
