

William Andrew "Andy" Davis, 85, of Maryville, Tennessee passed away Monday, October 23, 2023. He was born to Walter Ransom Davis and Sarah Elizabeth “Baby” Davis on February 12, 1938 in Birmingham, Alabama.
Andy graduated from Fairfield High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Marine Corp reserves from 1956-1964. During his time in the reserves, he wed his wife, Patty, and they have shared more than 64 years together.
Following his time in the Marine Corp reserves, Andy went to work for Bellsouth. While at Bellsouth, he furthered his education and graduated from Samford University in 1970. He was ordained as a deacon and a minister, and attended the Harrison Chilhowee School of Preaching.
Andy served as a guest preacher and interim pastor for many churches in Sevier County, Tennessee over the years. As part of his pastoral ministries, he went on many short-term mission trips in Guatemala, Ecuador, Cuba, Russia, and Okinawa. Later in his ministry, he coordinated the food bank ministry at Gum Stand Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member until his health began to fail.
Andy is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack Wescott Davis; and daughter, Kim Leigh Davis Webb (Robert). He is survived by his wife, Patricia Gail Brooks Davis; daughter, Laurie Jeanine Davis Womac (Zane); son, William Andrew Davis, Jr. (Carrie); grandchildren, Matthew Brooks Womac (Haley), Laurie Womac Durfee (Eric), Jonathan Dale Majors (Jessica), Ashleigh Gail Majors Burk, Chasin James “CJ” Webb, Callie Jane Webb, Antonio R. Ruiz, Anna Corena Ruiz, and William Andrew Davis, III; great-grandchildren, David Riley Downy, Jack Thomas Passler, Henry Remington Downy, Savannah Leigh Burk, Evelyn Beth Burk, and Lillian J. Burk; and siblings, Walter Ransom “Randy” Davis, Jr., Ann Davis, and Sarah Davis Bowen; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The gravesite committal service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo.
