OBITUARY

William Allen Johnson

March 30, 1937June 11, 2019

William A. "Bill" Johnson, age 82, left this earth on June 11, 2019, to go sing in God’s Choir.

Bill had been a Warbler since 1955 and also sang with the Alabama Jubilee.

Some of his happiest moments were the day he was saved, the day he married his wife, Yvonne, and the births of his four children, eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Bill enjoyed singing with the Warblers and was extremely proud to have performed a comedy routine as Hitt ‘em Straight along with his longtime friend Jim Burton as Richard Flasher in the 1988 reunion show.

Bill loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter.

He was blessed by having two loving church families, Eastside Baptist and Providence Baptist.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Yvonne; his four children, Brenda Johnson, Janet Johnson Yeager (Philip), William A. (Bill) Johnson, Jr. (Scarlett), and Carol Johnson (Pam Baggett); eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren with more on the way.

Bill enjoyed telling a good joke and making people laugh. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by many.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Providence Baptist Church, 190 County Road 46, Montevallo, AL 35115. The funeral service will be at 12 noon, immediately following the visitation at the church. The gravesite committal service will be at 2:30 p.m. the same day at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville, Alabama. Pastor Allen Foster will officiate, and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

So many memories run thru my mind when I think of you and Bill - high school, living across the street in the apartments when we first got married and then living across the street years later when we had kids running around playing in the cul de sac. Now Bill is well and is singing with some of the Warblers who have gone on before him. Maybe he will run into Jimmy, who is probably an inspector for the mansions that are being built for all the newcomers. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
