"Big Ed" was a career minister and missionary, serving Church of God congregations in Indiana, Alabama, Louisiana, and Virginia. He conducted missions in Belize, Central America for three years and also did international missions in Guyana, South America. He and his wife Lucy have proudly encouraged their three children to follow in their footsteps to do missions worldwide.
A U.S. Air Force Veteran and a member of Riverchase Church of God in Birmingham, Alabama, Big Ed is survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Lucille Tilukdharie; one daughter, Indra Oldham-Clowdus; two sons, Kenneth Oldham and Brian Oldham; six grandchildren, Gracelyn Rose Oldham, Titus Edward Oldham, Ezekiel Jordan Oldham, William James Clowdus, Jillian Lylee Clowdus, and Lilly Rose Clowdus; and two brothers, James "Andy" Oldham and Richard "Dick" Oldham.
A Celebration of Big Ed Oldham's Life will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama. The family will greet friends at a reception at the funeral home immediately after the chapel service Sunday. Ministers Ken Oldham and Tony Weiger will officiate.
On Monday, October 21, 2019, the gravesite committal service will be at 10:15 a.m. at Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo. Pallbearers will be Brian Oldham, Ken Oldham, Michael Clowdus, Titus Oldham, Zeke Oldham, and Parker Bass.
