Bill grew up in Oil City, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He began his career at Florida Power Corporation. Subsequently he was hired by the Federal Power Commission to investigate the Northeast Blackout of 1965. He retired from the Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Joyce; his three daughters, Jill Mallory, Jan Russo, and Julie Chalmers; and his five grandsons, Brendan Mallory, Colin Mallory, Ryan Chalmers, Hayden Chalmers, and Michael Russo.
The funeral service will be Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the chapel at Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Alabama. The service will be preceded by visitation, 10-11 a.m. in the church's chapel. Burial will follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, Alabama.
