

Wilma Roesel Ellis, age 89, was born in Savannah, Georgia to the late Louis Christopher and Katie Graham Roesel. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Louis Roesel. She was educated in public schools in Savannah, and attended David Lipscomb College in Nashville, TN. She was very active in PTA projects during her sons' school years and a strong supporter of their sports activities year round. She worked for American Greetings for twenty years, and in more recent times, treasured her participation at the Ellis Piano store. She served on the Beautification Board of Hoover, and was a member of the Alabama Knitting Guild. She dearly loved her family and friends; and enjoyed traveling, books, music, and especially working with plants and flowers in her yard. Wilma was a life-long member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by her sons, Buz Ellis (Cherri), David Ellis (Christy), Tom Ellis (Lynn); grandchildren, Rachel Mathews, Jason Ellis, Cory Ellis, Rebecca Ellis, Chelsea Ellis, Ryan Ellis, Zack Ellis, and Josh Ellis, as well as her nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Cahaba Valley Road, Friday, July 1st from 3-5 pm.
