She was the beloved wife of Kenneth J. Dreon, Sr., with whom she shared 60 years of marriage rooted in deep friendship and a shared love for the simple joys of life. Together, they created a loving home where everyone was welcome and cared for.
A woman of vibrant energy, Yvonne was a familiar face at the YMCA, where she could be found most mornings in the pool for water aerobics. More than just exercise, those sessions were a time for laughter and connection with her close-knit circle of friends. Her creativity knew no bounds — she was a visionary in the garden and a master of landscaping, transforming her yard into a sanctuary of color and life. This reflected her personality and how she lived her life.
Perhaps her most remarkable gift was her ability to see potential where others saw “junk.” An avid furniture restorer, she took great pride in turning weathered, forgotten pieces into treasures, much like how she nurtured the people around her. Whether she was painting a new canvas, baking her famous apple pies, or getting her hands dirty in the soil, she lived a life defined by the beauty she created.
Above all, Yvonne was a devoted wife, mother, and cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who were the light of her life, and she never missed an opportunity to share a story, a lesson, or a warm hug. Her legacy of kindness, creativity, and strength will live on in every flower that blooms in her garden and every refurbished piece of furniture in our homes.
She Is Survived By Her husband, Kenneth J. Dreon, Sr.; her children, Kenneth J. and Julianne Dreon, Jr., Michelle and Corey Morton, and Kristen and Todd Dorrough; her adored grandchildren, Anthony and Amanda Dreon, Blair and Shannon Acton, Bailey and Tyler Blackburn, Kayleigh Verboncoeur, and Hannah Verboncoeur; and her great-grandchildren, Isabella and Madelynn Dreon, Harper Acton, and Shepherd Blackburn.
