Pell City, Alabama (1929 – 2022)
On September 18, 2022, at the age of 92, surrounded by her family, God called Betty Ingram Cosper home to be with Him in the place He prepared for her. A lifelong resident of Pell City, Alabama, Dr. Cosper was an influential and integral part of the education community in St. Clair County until her retirement ten years ago. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Cosper Fletcher (Leo), Carol Cosper Meadows (Art), son, Billy M. Cosper, Jr., and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Roberta Davis Ingram, her sister, JoAnn Ingram King and her husband, Harold D. King, and her daughter, Betty Ann Cosper Dennis.
After receiving both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the University of Montevallo, she went on to receive a doctoral degree from The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Dr. Cosper will not only be remembered for her intellect, tireless work ethic, strong will, and sense of perfection, but also for her love of family and tradition, her dedication to friends, colleagues and students, and her joy when sharing her amazing cooking with others.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022, visitation at 10:00 a.m., service at 11:00 a.m., First Baptist Church, Pell City, with private interment at Coosa Valley Cemetery directly following.
