

Betty, also known as Granny and BB, was a deeply loving woman who was always there to help anyone in need. Her warmth, kindness, and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, and her family will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Born on October 21, 1937, Betty was a resident of Pell City, Al. Betty devoted more than 30 years to her work as a Registered Nurse in private practice, where she found great purpose and a
deep love for helping others. She was a steady presence in her community, known for her caring nature, whether it was providing a comforting meal or offering assistance in times of need. Betty’s love and support were a constant source of strength for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Simmons; parents, Lois and PL Harris; sister, Jo Wren Abbott; and grandsons, Bradley Simmons and Brian Marcus.
Betty is survived by her children, Lane Warlick (Debby); Theresa Warlick; BG Simmons (Cathy); grandchildren, Leia Leonard (Andrew) and Emily Simmons; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Leonard, Aslyn Leonard, Luke Leonard and Rylan Blackmon. She is also survived by sisters Martha Livingston (David), Linda Whitaker (Rubel), several nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City, Al. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by a service in the chapel at 12:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Forest Crest Cemetery in Irondale, AL.
The family is comforted knowing she is now at peace, and her enduring love and cherished memory will remain with us always.
