In Memory Of Broughton:
Broughton and I were good friends in high school, as I remember: and did a good bit of hitch hiking to various locations looking for jobs. On one occasion we hitched to Birmingham. Broughton had relatives in Birmingham with whom he was able to stay, whereas I did not. So I returned to Piedmont and worked various low paying jobs. Later, I decided to go to college and after a stint in the US Army again attended Jacksonville State University and got my degree in Business Admin. I was able to get a good job with FHA as a real estate appraiser, so my wife and I moved to Birmingham for a number of years. Threw it all, Broughton and I remained good friends and our families visited back and forth. Later however, my job moved to north Alabama and my family moved to Hartselle, Al. We continued to be good friends but saw less of each other as a result. However, he will remain a special friend as long as I live. He and I share the same birth date, July 8, 1928.
Broughton, May You Rest In Peace.
"Your Special Friend" Guy Brown
