Corley Lamar Gilliland

Funeral service for Corley Lamar Gilliland will be held at the Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City, Alabama on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 2:00pm, with a visitation from 1:00pm -2:00pm. Interment will follow at Macedonia North Baptist Church Cemetery in Vincent, Alabama.

Corley was born on November 21, 1931, in Steele, Alabama in St. Clair County on Chandler Mountain. He went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on November 6, 2025.

He is preceded in death by his devoted wife of 57 years, Thelma “Sissy” Gilliland; by his parents, Sylvester Benjamin Gilliland and Dora Azalee Rogers Gilliland; his brothers, Burl Eldred Gilliland, Kenneth Edsel Gilliland, Mark Dewey Gilliland, Hershel Sylvester Gilliland; and his sister, Rubye Grace Gilliland Phillips.

He is survived by his sons, Gregory Lamar Gilliland (Connie) and Donald Preston Gilliland (Kathy); his grandsons, Joshua David Gilliland (fiancé Nicole), Jonathan Daniel Gilliland (Kelsey); Chris Rutledge (Molly) and Cameron Rutledge; his great-grandchildren, Annabelle Joy and Elizabeth Sue Gilliland and Grayson, Sawyer, McCoy, Spencer, and Posey Rutledge; his brothers, Ellis Lee Gilliland (Mary), and William "Bill" Franklin Gilliland (Jody); and his sisters-in-law, Judy (Hershel) Gilliland and Sandra (Mark) Gilliland.
