Danny Gene Howell

Danny went home to be with the Lord on December 4, 2021. He was in his home surrounded by his family. Danny is a graduate of Pell City High School and was a founding member of MHE Mechanical Contractors, where he served the Pell City community and surrounding areas for many years. After closing MHE, he went on to work for the Pell City School System for the last 23 years of his career, retiring in 2020. He loved his family, his friends, his dogs, Auburn football, Western movies and classic rock.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pam(Polk), son Michael Howell (Rebecca); Daughters, Jamye Myers (David), Catherine Mogren (Tim); Step-sons, Benjamin Hazelwood and Zack McGowan; Step-daughters, Laura Hamrick and Amanda McGowan; Brothers, Donny Howell (Susan) and Steve Howell (Sandy);19 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Norma Rose Howell and his sister, Karen Howell.

A graveside service will be held at Mt. Zion cemetery on Tuesday December 7 at 3 o’clock in the afternoon, Rev. Paul Brasher officiating. Pall Bearers will be Freddy Hazelwood, Donny Howell, Michael Howell, Jackson Sweatt, Benjamin Hazelwood and Johnny Rea. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to be made to lovetotherescue.org, benefiting Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
