He is survived by his son, Trent Mays; daughter, Gracelyn Kennedy Mays; his mother, Virginia Mays; sister, Donna Taggart (Andy); brother, Jamie Mays; nephews, Drew Taggart and Timothy Taggart; nieces, Amy Vernon, Britney Crawford, and Mary Clay; and many great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Mays; and grandparents, Olan and Mazie Murphree and Earl and Edna Mays.
A visitation will be held for David on Friday, June 13, at Logan Martin Church of Christ beginning at 10:00am with a service to follow at 11:00am. He will be laid to rest at Pleasantfield Cemetery in Pleasantfield, AL.
