Gussie Virginia McDaniel Richey

PELL CITY – Mrs. Gussie V. Richey, born August 3, 1921, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017. Mrs. Richey is survived by three children, Nelda Henninger, Judy (Porter) Litty and Terry Richey; six grandchildren, Thurman (Alecia) Henninger, Richey Henninger, Scott (Kelley) Litty, Shannon (Brooks) Spruiell, Chris (Candace) Richey, Jessica (Cory) Ramsey; 15 great-grandchildren, Quint (Kristen), Blake, Shelby, Baylee, Ashley and Austin Henninger, Addie and Caroline Spruiell, Brandon and Julia Litty, Jasmine, Christian, Chloe, Jacoby and Juniper Ramsey; one great-great-granddaughter, Lyrick Henninger; one brother, Joe (Rose) Caldwell; and her honorary children, Jim and Laura Henry.

Mrs. Richey is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Richey; father, Gus McDaniel; mother, Macie Caldwell; step-father, Buford Caldwell; sister, Glenda Franklin; greatgrandchildren, Jerre and Jason Henninger.

Mrs. Richey was a long-time member of Eden Westside Baptist Church and touched many lives with her kind ways. She always found the good in everyone and made many friends over the years.

The family will receive visitors from 2 to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4 at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City. Following the visitation, there will be a service at 3:00 p.m. to celebrate Mrs. Richey’s life, officiated by Rev. Thurman Henninger.
