He is survived by his granddaughter, Dawna Newell (Jason).
He is preceded in death by his father, James Cecil Kay; mother, Ruby Pauline Kay; wife, Dorothy Dell Kay; son, Jeffery Scott Kay; brothers, General Archie Kay and Daniel Ray Kay; and sister, Paulette Kay Sears.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 at Kilgroe Funeral Home (Pell City) at 1:00pm, with a service to follow at 2:00pm. He will be laid to rest at Macedonia Cemetery in Ragland, AL.
