James Loyd Newton

PELL CITY – Funeral service for James Loyd Newton, age 83, will be Sunday, November 12 at 3:30 p.m. from the Chapel of Kilgroe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Clair Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday November 12 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Newton passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis & Bessie Newton; 3 sisters, Lorene Girardin, Betty Fluharty, Lillie Ruth Duck.

Mr. Newton served in the US Army for 4 years. Retired Truck Driver. He worked hard to take care of his family whom he loved. He was the fun one and joker of the family.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marlene H. Newton; son, Glenn (Lori) Newton; daughters, Diane Newton, Wanda (Mark) Hayes; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, William Newton, Wayne Newton, Paul Newton; sister, Dorothy Faye Bunt.
