

Lynn was born on July 20, 1955, in Talladega, Alabama, to James Barnett Matson and Gloria Armbrester Matson, both of whom preceded her in death.
A graduate of Winterboro High School, Lynn earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville State University and later received a Master’s Degree in Geriatric Nursing from Samford University. She devoted her professional life to caring for others and served as a Nurse Consultant with HMR Veterans Services until her retirement.
Lynn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, nurse, and friend. Her greatest accomplishment and
proudest role was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Family was the center of her life and her greatest joy. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply and took immense pride in their
accomplishments. She encouraged those she loved to work hard, excel, and take responsibility, while always being ready to offer support, guidance, comfort, and unconditional love when they needed it most.
Those who knew Lynn will remember her quick smile, warm heart, strength, kindness, and wonderful sense of humor. She loved to read, enjoyed laughter, and had a remarkable ability to make others feel cared for and valued. Her quiet strength, determination, and unwavering dedication to her family left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Lynn is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, James Vichael Fleming; her son, Joshua Fleming (Konica); her daughter, Jessica Oden (Ryan); her son, Jacob Fleming (Robyn); her grandchildren,
Andrew Fleming, Amelia Oden, Ronan Fleming, Henry “Hank” Oden, and Carter Fleming; her sister, Karen Ward (Mike); and many extended family members and dear friends.
The family will hold a private gathering to celebrate Lynn’s life. In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated, and her ashes will later be scattered in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico near Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Lynn’s legacy lives on in the family she cherished, the patients she served, and the countless lives she touched through her kindness, compassion, strength, and love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
