

Mary Lou Adams, known by those who loved her as Grandma, was born on September 12, 1943 and left her earthly body on May 24, 2026 and entered eternity to join a host of loved ones waiting for her there.
Grandma (Mary Lou) was the life force in her family. A true matriarch who offered unconditional love and an open home to anyone. She was beautiful both inside and out and built beautiful traditions and everlasting memories, from Christmases overflowing with abundance to Sunday lunches where everyone had a seat at the table. She carried those traditions to the end.
Her love of children was evident from her work as a special education paraprofessional, her ministry as a pastor’s wife and her love for her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her brother’s grandchildren.
Her generosity was boundless. She gave of herself like very few people are able to and she loved without question.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents Festus Sumner and Mary Frances Sumner, Her beloved husband Rev. Joseph Lynn Adams, Her sister Judith Harvey and her brother Lanny Sumner.
She is survived by her daughter Jolene Lee (Tommy), son Jonathan Adams, Grandchildren Elliot Jacobik (Rebecca); Jill Blankenship (Parker) and Maggie Howard (Trevor); Great Grandchildren Skylar Jacobik, Grant Blankenship and Margot Howard.
