Mike served in the US Navy for 4 years on the USS Milwaukee and retired from the Anniston Army Depot after 35 years of employment.
Mike loved his family and Friends, hunting, motorcycle riding, gardening and Alabama football.
Mike is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dot Harwell Wood; sister, Nancy Hamlin; nieces and nephews, Marlyn Jones (Frankie), Cathy Clayton (Jeff), Tanya Reyer (Patrick), Timothy Harwell, Matt Hamlin, Mark Hamlin & Jn Hamlin.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin F. and Naomi Wood; brother, Daniel F. Wood.
A memorial Services for Michael and Dot will be Saturday, June 20th at Kilgroe Funeral Home at 12:00 PM with visitation starting at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers contributions in Mike’s memory by be made to the American Cancer Society.
