

Those who knew Rachel will remember her as a soft-spoken, quiet woman whose heart was overflowing with love for others. Her gentle nature, kindness, and unwavering care for her family and friends left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She dedicated 37 years of service as the Head Teller at Union State Bank, where she was known for her dedication, integrity, and warm spirit.
Rachel is lovingly survived by her daughter, Crystal McClurkin Russell; her granddaughter, Morgan (Brody); her cherished great-grandson, Cooper; brother-in-law, Van (Mary Sue) McClurkin; nephews, Burt (Christine) McClurkin, Ben (Andi) McClurkin, and Daniel (Brooke) McClurkin; grand nephews, Benjamin, Luke, David, Cal, Bo, Jude, and William; nieces, Rhonda Barnhill and Regina Graham; and a host of great nieces. She also leaves behind other loving family members and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory especially, Pat Gilmore, best friends for 81 years.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years, John David McClurkin. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and faith. Additional family members preceding her in death include her parents: Isidore and Gladys Hardwick.
Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Rachels life. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 1, at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City beginning at 1:00pm with the funeral service to follow at 3:00pm. A private family graveside will be held Monday, August 3.
Rachel's quiet strength, gentle spirit, and boundless love will be deeply missed, but her legacy will continue through the family she cherished and the many lives she touched.
