Thomas H. Barnett

A memorial gathering for Thomas H. Barnett, age 80, of Pell City, will be at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Kilgroe Funeral Home, Pell City, Alabama.

Mr. Barnett is survived by his daughters, Ivy Bishop (Brian) and Hilary Barnett (Greg Cottrell); grandchildren, Nicole, Sophia, Isaiah, Sarah, Will, Alex, Michael, Christopher, Cameron and Blake; sisters, Linda Kay Hurst and Nancy Ferguson (Jimmy); and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jan Barnett.

Tom was a graduate of Tarrant City High School, Class of 1962. He attended both Livingston and Montevallo Universities where he earned his undergraduate and master's degrees. He was a retired fireman/ paramedic from both Birmingham Fire & Rescue and Cahaba Valley Fire Department. "Barney" as he was called at the station was a beloved friend and colleague. He loved to play pranks on everyone, was quite the jokester, and was full of fun and laughter. For most of his life he loved to ride his BMW motorcycle and travel the country.
