Amanda Morrison

Family and friends may call at the Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, NY on Thursday, October 30 from 2:00-3:00pm. Amanda’s funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 3:00. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation in Amanda’s name to the Branchport United Methodist Church, 3376 Guyanoga Rd., Branchport New York 14418.

Amanda was born July 13, 1918 in Stanton, Nebraska to the late Hugo & Clara (Klatt) Weichenthal. She and Ray Morrison were married on new years day, 1937. In addition to assisting with the family business Amanda worked for many years at JC Penny’s in Geneva and Lown’s in Penn Yan. She enjoyed gardening, especially her flower gardens, and watching for her favorite birds, cardinals and hummingbirds. During the winter her attention turned to cards, scrabble, baking and family dinners.

She is survived by her children, Shirley (Gerald) Fullagar, Elden Morrison, Marlene Lerch; grandchildren, Timothy Fullagar, Susan Clark, Stephan Fullagar, Regina Clary, Michael Lerch, Brian Lerch; sister-in-law, Dorothy Weichenthal; great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Amanda was predeceased by her husband Ray; sisters, Martha Weichenthal, Ella Lunick, Esther Harris; brothers, Arlin, Gehardt, Otto, Paul; and son-in-law, King Lerch.
