She was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 27th, 1947, the daughter of Evelyn (Andersen) and George Watters. She graduated from Penn Yan Academy Class of 1965. She relocated back to NYC briefly following high school. Christine moved back to the Penn Yan Area to work for Mercury Aircraft in Hammondsport. Shortly following her career at Mercury Aircraft, she married her late husband, Dale Andersen In June of 1969. Christine was a florist for 25 years at the Flower Cart in Penn Yan where she enjoyed creating many wonderful arrangements. Christine got great joy from creating many wonderful holiday meals for her family.
Christine is survived by her sons, James (Amy) and Jeremy (Katy); her grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah and Connor; cousins, Ellen, Richard and Bill Ratcliffe; brother in law, David Andersen; her husband's cousins, Ron Ratcliffe; and nieces, Karla, Beth and Elise. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Dale Andersen, brother, Ernest Sperr, her beloved aunt in law, Dr. Florence “Betty” Moody.
A gathering celebrating Christine's life will be held on Saturday, December 15th, 2018 from 11am to 2pm at the Townsend Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan. Burial at Lakeview Cemetery in Penn Yan will be private to her family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Yates County, PO Box 112, Penn Yan, NY 14527.
