Danny C. McNeil, age 64 of Penn Yan, NY passed away at home on Tuesday, January 8th, 2018. Danny was born in Penn Yan, NY on May 26th, 1954. Danny graduated from Penn Yan Academy and attended SUNY Delhi. He was a self-employed mechanical contractor doing plumbing and electrical work. Danny was an avid deer hunter and a longtime fan of the NY Football Giants. He was a Sons of the Legion member of the American Legion Post # 355 in Penn Yan. He was previously employed at Sears, Roebuck and Company, and Herendeen Brothers in Shortsville, NY. Danny enjoyed spending time at the family camp in Booneville, NY, visiting with his sons and extended family, and was known to enjoy an occasional Miller Lite. Danny is survived by his sons, Chad (Tracey) McNeil, Seth (Angela) Rogers, and Shawn (Kristine) McNeil; grandchildren Amelia and Cadence; His companion of 8 years, Mary Gale Sisson; as well as his siblings, Carol (Ted) Cox, Karen (Mike) DeFazio, and Donald McNeil; step brother, Richard (Linda) Cowell; and several nieces and nephews. Danny was predeceased by his mother, Beverley C. Cowell; step father, Kenneth L. Cowell; and step brother, Steven Cowell. A gathering celebrating his life will be held at the convenience of his family. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to The American Cancer Society.
