
McCauley, Dorothy Bond of Dundee, NY passed away on November 6, 2014 at Soldiers & Sailors Hospital in Penn Yan NY. Doris, as she was known by, was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on March 20th, 1922. She emigrated to Canada, Brooklyn NY and Fairfax VA and became a secretary for Pearl River High School in Pearl River, NY. Doris also served as a retail department store manager in Evansville IN for many years.
Doris is survived by her sons Walter (Josephina) McCauley and Steven McCauley, grandchildren Griselda (Spencer) Nelson and Gabriel (Gessica) Burrozo. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Riley and Kiley Nelson and John Michael Burrozo, sister Edith Hart and many nieces and nephews.
Doris was predeceased by her husband James McCauley in 1999, daughter Janet McCauley in 1977, brother Walter Bond and sister Gladys Gombos.
Doris enjoyed many hobbies including her beloved gardening and spent many vacations on Keuka Lake which she regarded as God’s country for over 30 years and became her home after retiring.
There will be no prior calling hours. A private memorial service will be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Penn Yan at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made in Doris's name to the Humane Society of Yates County, PO Box 12, Penn Yan, NY 14527.
