At Bill's request there will be no calling hours. A celebration of Bill's life will take place in the Spring.
Bill was born on January 8, 1935 in Geneva, NY to the late Earl W. and Margaret (Jorgensen) Stokoe, Sr. Bill served in the Navy from 1952-54 as a Naval Seaman cook. He worked for Finger Lakes Laundry in Geneva until he opened his own business in 1968, Bill's Home Diner in Dresden, NY, which allowed him to entertain his love of cooking for 25 years. He was an avid hunter, and enjoyed many hours of fishing in his boat on Seneca Lake. He was a life member of the Seneca Lake Duck Hunter's Club where he enjoyed cooking for the annual game dinners. Bill was also a member of the American Legion, Dresden Post.
He is survived by his children, Darlene (Doug) Braman, Mark (Ronda) Stokoe; grandchildren, Stephen (Heather) LaBarr, Erich (Tori) LaBarr, Justin Braman, Jason (Jill) Braman, Alyssa (Clay) Knowlton, Tyler Stokoe; great grandchildren, Juliette LaBarr, Rosalie Braman, Sullivan LaBarr; sister, Joyce Mahar; son-in-law, Glenn Applebee. Bill was predeceased by his daughter, Deborah Applebee on March 9, 2013.
