Harold was born on May 23, 1916 in Hall, NY the son of the late Chris Peter and Marie (Jensen) Andersen. He served in the US Army Air Corp. during WWII and was a member of the Johnson Costello American Legion Post #355. Harold had worked for several years for Coach & Equipment and Burkett Mills in Penn Yan. He was a life long dairy farmer and carpenter. He was also a member of the Penn Yan United Methodist Church and the Danish Brotherhood of America. Harold loved to dance and enjoyed traveling, fishing, playing cards and golfing. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Eleanor and his second wife, Marjorie.
Harold is survived by his children, Sharon (Del) Allen, Patricia (Mike) Hoffman, Penny (Chris) Peterson, and Steven (Joela) Andersen; his grandchildren, Ben (Inga) Hoffman, Nichelle Allen, Cyndi Hoffman, Leah (Ryan) Dailey, Kimberly (Mike Darcy) Allen, David (Shawna) Hoffman, James (Kimberlee) Peterson, Robert Petersen, Anna Marie Betkavsky, Garrett Andersen, and Lily Andersen; great grandchildren, Michaela, Kaeden, Addison, Alex, Audrey, and Declan; his step children, Denny (Leah) Johnson, Randy (Deb) Johnson, Bev (Jerry) Gates, and Barb (Tim) Hackett; numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Harold’s family will receive friends and family on Saturday, December 8th beginning at 2 pm at the Penn Yan United Methodist Church, corner of Chapel and Main St. where a memorial service commemorating his life will be held at 3pm. Burial with Military Honors will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Penn Yan.
