Joan L. Foster

Joan was born in Penn Yan on July 5th, 1931, the daughter of the late Louise H. (Miller) and Ora A. Peacock. She was a 1948 graduate of Penn Yan Academy and had worked as the church secretary for St. Michael's Church in Penn Yan of 10 years. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Above all, Joan loved being with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

Joan is survived by her children, Kathi A. (Dayne) Tharrett of Spring City, TN; Bonnie J. Wailgum of Rochester, NY; Howard A. Foster of Penn Yan, Dennis G. Foster of Batavia, Steven L. (Cindy) Foster of Warsaw; anbd Debbie A Foster of Leroy; Eleven grandchildren and Twelve great grandchildren; sister, Helen (Charles) Scarpechie; brothers, Robert (Dorothy) Peacock and Ora Peacock, Jr.; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her husband, Louis W. Foster.

Friends and family may visit from 1pm to 3pm on Thursday, February 1st, 2018 at Townsend Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan where a memorial service celebrating her life will follow at 3pm.
