Karleen "Kardi" Burd

Karleen “Kardi” (Kennedy) Burd, 56, of Penn Yan, passed away on July 11, 2012 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital. Kardi was born on October 7, 1955 in Penn Yan, NY to Leon and Rowena Wright Kennedy. She was a lifelong resident of Penn Yan and a graduate of Penn Yan Academy. Kardi worked at Seneca Foods in Geneva for over 30 years. In her free time Kardi enjoyed cookouts with family, spending time with her grandchildren and especially enjoyed sharing memories through pictures of her family.

Friends and family may call from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel. Kardi’s funeral service to follow at the funeral home with Rev. Stephen Sanden officiating. Burial will take place at St. Michael’s Cemetery.

She is survived by children, Celia (Donald) Wendt, Donald “Boo” Burd, Jr., David Caballero, Jenny Caballero; husband, Donald Burd; sister, Dora Burd; grandchildren, Sophia & Nicholas Wendt, Donald “DJ” III, Andrew, Aaron & Samantha Burd, Jaylynn Caballero, Morgan & Brynne Wilson, Maysan Milam, Seth McCormick; several nieces & nephews. Kardi was predeceased by her parents; best friend, Domingo Caballero; brother-in-law, Ronald Burd.
