

Peggy was born in Thurston, NY on January 8, 1925, the daughter of the late Noble and Catherine (Arnold) Brown. Peggy was a 1943 graduate of Prattsburgh Central School and later received her Associates Degree in Design from RIT. She ran Italy Hill Country Store that her parents founded. Peggy was a partner in the 110 Decorating Studio located on Seneca St. in the late 1940’s. She had also been employed as an interior designer with Sears & Roebuck in Ft. Pierce, FL. Peggy spent many years volunteering at the Canandaigua VA and earned an award for having over 8000 hours as a volunteer. In addition to her parents, Peggy was predeceased by her son, Kenneth E. Cole in 1977 and her husband Donald B. Cole in 2005. Peggy is survived by her sister in law, Barbara Cole, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Peggy’s memory to the Volunteer Unit at the Canandaigua VAMC, 400 Fort Hill Ave., Canandaigua, NY 14424. Peggy’s family wishes to extend an appreciation to the staff and doctors at the Living Center North for the excellent care Peggy received.
Friends and family may call from 1pm to 2pm on Thursday, May 22nd at the Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel in Penn Yan, where her funeral service will be held following at 2pm. Burial will follow at Italy Hill Cemetery.
