

Family and friends may call from 10 am to Noon on Thursday, May 30th, 2013 at St. Michael's Church in Penn Yan, NY. A Memorial Mass will be held following at the church at Noon. Inurnment will follow the service at St. Michael's Cemetery. Memorials may be made in his name to the Kitty Wigsten Scholarship Fund at Soldier's &Sailors Memorial Hospital.
Richard was born October 24, 1925 in Penn Yan, NY, the son of the late George P. and Mildred (Skiff) Lord. Richard served in the US Army Air Corp. during WWII. He retired as a rural postal carrier for the Penn Yan Post Office. He was the Past Commander of the Johnson Costello American Legion Post 355, Yates County Commander, 7th district Chaplain, and Dept. Sargent at Arms. He was a member of the Milo Lodge 108, Past Patron of Amity Chapter of OES and belonged to the Seneca Lake Chapter 321 OES of Dresden. He was also a Life Member of the BPOE Penn Yan Lodge 1722, a Past Chef de Jare of the 40 & 8 Voiture 698 of Yates Co, a member of the 40 & 8 of Marion Co. in Florida, and a member of the Honor Guard of the American Legion Post 284 in Bellevie, FL.
He is survived by his sons: Mark E. (Jan) Lord of Dundee, NY, Michael G. Lord of Swain NY, Jeffrey R. (Theresa) Lord of Erie, PA; daughter: Joy M. (Steven) Pulver of Danielsville, GA; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.
