Rodman was born in Elmira, NY on November 7th, 1933, the son of the late Leola (Albee) and Harry Williams. He was a graduate of Penn Yan Academy Class of 1952. He married Sally Schofield on August 30, 1958 at the Benton Methodist Church. He retired as the Chief of Maintenance for NYSEG at Greenridge in Dresden after 40 years of service. He served as the Benton Town Supervisor for 18 years and served as a Yates County Legislator for 6 years. He prided himself on putting his two sons through college. He was a lover of animals and enjoyed building decks and had built their family home on Route 14A.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sally Williams; his sons, Matthew R. (Lila) Williams of Dallas, TX and Andrew R. (Dr. Aimee Pearce) Williams of Holland Patent, NY; his grandchildren, Dylan Williams and Erica and Alex Freund; sister, Shirley Williams Cohen of NJ; brother, Edward Williams of Penn Yan; and brother and sister-in-law, William and Nancy Athawes of Endicott, NY. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his twin brother, Robert Williams and brother-in-law, Gilbert Cohen.
Friends and family may call from 11a to 1pm on Thursday, February 22nd, 2018 at the Penn Yan United Methodist Church, 166 Main St., Penn Yan, where his funeral service will follow at 1pm with the Rev. Jeff Childs officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Penn Yan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to the Penn Yan United Methodist Church, PO Box 242, Penn Yan, NY 14527or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 435 East Henrietta Rd., Rochester, NY 14620.
