Ruth E. Hall

Friends and family may attend a Memorial Service for Ruth at 10am on Monday, April 22, 2013 at the Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, NY.

Ruth was born on May 8, 1918 in Corry, PA to the late Oscar and Agnes (Bunce) Johnson. She graduated from Corry High School in 1936, received a BS from Taylor University in 1940 and a Master’s Degree from the University of Buffalo in 1956. Ruth was the Dean of Women at Taylor University & Buffalo Bible Institute. She taught English in PA & NY.

She is survived by step daughter, Judy (Gene) Young of Rochester; grandchildren, Karen (Todd) Bowser, Diane (Troy) Bassett; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Gertrude Johnson Clark of Upland, Indiana; several nieces & nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her first husband in 1951, Herbert Lyon; second husband in 1995, R. Wendell Hall; son, Michael Hall in 1970; sister, Edna Johnson Clark in 2007.
