Aaron Morgan Gore, Jr. quietly slipped away to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 28, 2013. He was surrounded and supported by many family and friends. Aaron’s family and friends offer a special thank you to the kind individuals at UniHealth for helping create his home during his final stage of life.
Born in Pensacola, Florida in 1931 to parents Aaron Morgan Gore and Marion Steele Gore, he lived in various locations as typical of a son of an Army Captain. He settled in Pensacola, FL, and married Verna Louise Jernigan. They were blessed with three children. He was employed and retired as an electrician from Escambia County School Board.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Verna Louise Gore, his parents, and a brother-in-law, Charles Harmon. He is survived by his children Aaron M Gore III, of Columbus, Ohio, Kellie D Gore of Pace, FL, Holly Gore Carnley of Milton, FL as well as his son-in-law, Darrin L Carnley of Milton, FL, two grandchildren, Audra and Andrea Carnley, both of Milton, FL, a brother Frank Gore, a sister Dorothy Bishop, a brother-in-law Richard Jernigan, sisters-in-law Phala Harmon, Paula Jernigan and Kay Gore, and dear friends Joe, Norman, Dennis, Bro. Hall, as well as a multitude of other beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was a baptized and faithful member of Wallace Baptist Church near Pace, FL. A quiet man, Aaron profoundly enjoyed an active life appreciating nature, history, music, and firearms. Additionally, he was an avid member of the National Rifle Association, Bream Fisherman Association, and Escambia River Muzzle Loaders, Inc. He was a gentle, unassuming pillar of strength and an example of fine character. He will be deeply missed. Visitation will be held at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with burial to follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
